About the Project
The project “Europe for Citizens” organized by “Minorities of Europe” consists of a combination of eighteen national public workshops in six European countries (Estonia, Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Malta, and United Kingdom) and one international conference conducted in the United Kingdom. A publication informing about the project results will accompany the activities. The project will be implemented from November 2007 until June 2008.

The activities on national level are aimed to debate within local communities basic European values and the future of the European Union as well as to figure our what Europeans from different countries – old and new EU members – understand and how they perceive the concept of EU citizenship, democracy and participation in Europe. The international conference will summarize the local events and present their results to a wider public (interested individuals, NGOs, governmental institutions). Further more, the publication (1500 copies, English language) will enlarge the target group of the project by reaching additional institutions and organizations providing them with the achieved outcomes of the activities.

Six organizations from the above-mentioned countries agreed to cooperate in order to implement this project idea. Each partner is responsible for the conduction of the local events in his country while the applicant organization from UK is coordinating the entire project and leads and organize the international conference.
